Buddhism is one of the largest religions in the world with an estimated 500 million adherents located in all corners of the globe. Although Buddhism is practiced all around the world, the majority of Buddhists are centered in the Eastern, Southern and Central parts of Asia. It was founded in India in approximately 525 B.C. by Siddhartha Gautama. Although it was founded and first gained a foothold in India, Buddhism today is usually more associated with East Asian countries such as Korea and Japan. Given the diversity of the peoples of East Asia and their political systems, culture and language one might wonder what led to the expansion of Buddhism over such a large geographical area. Siddhartha left his palace, renouncing his wealth and status, to find the cause of suffering. After years of searching, he found his answer and went on to teach others. When he died, he attained nirvana, the release from earthly desires and suffering, and became the Buddha. The Buddha s teachi ngs were written down by his followers who spread his message. These texts are called sutras. A religion began to form and new branches of Buddhism were created. The introduction of Buddhism to Korea impacted the culture and politics of the region immensely. Advantages and Disadvantages of Fast Foods Food that we eat today has changed more in the past 30 years, than in the past 3,000 years. What is even more astonishing is that these changes have occurred without the public even knowing it or having the chance to debate it. How has this happened? We are now a culture that is very distant from where our food comes from. We are alienated from our food industry. We don’t see how the food is made or what chemicals, food coloring or fillers are added to them and this can be very dangerous for us. I became very proficient in budgeting, scheduling of events and the promotion of customer relations. All these activities enabled me to become very good at building teams and to assume the position of a role model for others. In addition, I possessed adequate knowledge to recruit, train and encourage professional staff development. I also worked in group facilitation, and in this particular field I emerged as an undisputed leader. My communication skills were proved on many an occasion to be outstanding. I am extremely proficient with the Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Publisher and software applications like FitLinxx, MediTech and Eclipse. Whilst working as a Product Sales Developer in TechnoGym USA, Seattle, WA and I developed programming around Easy Line circuit equipment and provided essential product information to the sales personnel. This entailed the design of presentations, making conference calls and preparing product literature to improve sales and the preparation, execution and revision of project plans. I have faced a number of challenges in life. One of them relates to my tenure in the military. I joined up at the age of nineteen and to put it frankly I was all at sea. We had to undergo physical exercises six days a week for an hour at a stretch. It was not much different from physical torture. Then we were made to march for twelve miles with a rifle and a forty pound knapsack. Afterwards we had to stand at attention, without making even the slightest of movement. In addition, we had to memorize and answer a number of questions while waiting in line for food. Emotionally our psyche took a tremendous beating, as we were not allowed to see our family members or friends till a month had elapsed, which forced us to develop new friends. This experience proved to be a baptism by fire and I emerged much stronger and better equipped to face the worst in life. I developed self reliance, team spirit and since the targets were never ending it became second nature to strive for attaining goals. This served to enhance my ambition and fighting spirit enormously. I have received several citations and certificates for the exemplary work performed by me. I am a trained instructor in Yoga, Spin, Pilates and CPR. My life’s ambition is to start a Health and Fitness enterprise. To this end I would like to commence studios that take care of fitness and provide personalized training. My observation has been that a significant number of institutions that offer fitness services do not cater to individual needs. My enterprise will take a very close look at the nutritional value of the food being consumed by my clientele. There will be stores for such purchases and these stores will offer customized shopping services. I will implement meal plans that will take into account the specific requirements of my customers. My principal objectives are to develop skills related to the management of projects, develop self – sufficiency and conduct a successful business. Moreover, I intend to travel extensively for both business and pleasure, because travel expands the mind. These are my aspirations and a few of my extensive accomplishments. The next logical step is to obtain suitable formal education in management.   This will not only improve my career prospects but also help me to perform at my optimum level. Thus, I made a survey of the different colleges offering the MBA program and concluded that the Marylhurst University’s MBA program was best suited to my unique needs. This program produces professionals with strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills with a holistic view of the business process from the shop floor to the retail outlet. Team managers must provide responsibilities to its employees to ensure involvement of the employee in the task and its ability to handle multi-tasking. The employee must get ample opportunities for learning by performing tasks which are new for them and guide them for proceeding. An appraisal program for the good performance also helps the employees in development, this is based on 360-degree appraisal where managers, supervisors evaluate the teams performance and suggest them the changes or provide feedbacks necessary (Korpelainen Kira, 2010). All these will help the employees to know to know the shortcoming evaluate its own performance and work for betterment. In this rapidly changing world, one needs to be competitive, be it organization or employee. There is a positive relationship between the organization development and the employee development. There must be the assessment for the organizations core competencies which include what skills are actually required for the development of the organization, and then only the organization's leaders can develop the goals as a whole (Mathis Jackson, 2011). There should also be the evaluation for the skills that are lacking in the organization. After finding the key skills requirement, for example, the organization is lacking in team dynamics, then there must be the implementation of team building the program for the employees. If managers are lacking in strong leadership, the goal of the organization shou ld be to implement leadership development training for its managers. All these development activities will ensure a positive return on investment. And return on investment is a primary goal for the organization strategy in achieving its goal (Noe, 2010). For any organization, it will be a higher loss in its turnover in case there is no retention of highly skilled employees in the organization. A highly skilled and developed workforce of the organization will contribute to overall development and effectiveness of the organization to compete with the other organization of the same industry. It is easy for the organization to develop itself if its employees maintain the skills necessary for the organization . Human Resource Management plays a key role in the employee development for any organization. HR professionals play an essential role in creating an environment for learning in the organization. It helps to create a work culture of where all the employees of the organization take part in the training and development program with seriousness. Human Resource Management is the face of any organization, as their job is not just to interact with the executives, seniors or managers but with each and every employee of the organization. Personal Career Development: I am currently working as a management trainee in the organization and after five years I see myself as the senior executive for handling customer query in the organization. The working condition of my organization has helped me in learning a lot. There is a learning environment, activities, training provided to management trainees to build their skills and perform well in the organization. The best performers get appreciated with many appraisal programs, trophies, certificates from eminent guests, and even trips to work abroad. All this motivates me in performing at a higher level so that I can avail all these appraisals for myself and get promotions as early as possible. The organization has helped me grow not only in work aspects but also as a human being with professional thinking and working ethically.
